This tour is for those who want a blend of planned activities and free time to make your own discoveries. If you want to travel like an Italy insider, and not have to spend your valuable time researching and planning the details, you have the spirit for our Leisurely Rome Tour. This leisurely Platinum vacation to Rome includes six nights in Rome at the first class Hotel Ponte Sisto. Our trip begins  with a welcome dinner with wine at one of Rome’s lively restaurants. We'll also enjoy sightseeing tours with a local guide, including St. Peter’s Square and Basilica, the Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel, and the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

    Upon arrival in Rome meet your English-speaking assistant who will lead you to your private motor coach for your transfer to your hotel. Check-in to the Hotel Ponte Sisto, unpack and relax after the long journey. In the evening you will meet for a Welcome cocktail reception at the hotel. Afterwards walk to a local restaurant for a Welcome Dinner.

    The day begins with breakfast at the hotel. Meet your local guide for a tour of Ancient Rome. The tour will bring to life the scattered ruins of the Roman Forum and the imposing Coliseum. The Coliseum was originally capable of seating around 50,000 spectators and used for gladiatorial contests and public spectacles. It remained in use for nearly 500 years with the last recorded games being held there as late as the 6
    th century.

    Sunday
    June 21

    Rome
    Breakfast at the hotel. The day is at leisure. You may want to join the crowd at St. Peter’s Square for the Papal Blessing, held every Sunday.

    Monday 

    June 22

    Rome
    Breakfast at the hotel. Meet your local guide and transfer to St. Peter’s. Begin your day with a guided tour of the Vatican Museums, including Michelangelo’s Masterpiece, the stunning frescoes found in the Sistine Chapel.
    With our expert local guide, wander leisurely along the galleries of the Vatican museums, passing by breathtaking Roman mosaics, sculptures of ancient Greece and Rome, the moving Lacoon group and Belvedere Apollo, and spectacular frescoed ceilings and tapestries in the Corridor of Tapestries. Continue on to Botticelli, Raphael's magnificent decoration of Giulius the II’s Vatican apartment, and finally Michelangelo's masterpieces in the breathtaking Sistine Chapel.
